The News Business Uses Qanon To Sow Doubt About Legitimate Human Trafficking

By Matt Berman April 11, 2021 Nobody Asked Me

If you don’t know much about legitimate human trafficking, you’re like most people. In fact, most people only hear about human trafficking anymore in reference to Qanon. Qanon is largely considered a “discredited” or “debunked” conspiracy theory. The central tenants are that high-level Democrats are trafficking children sex slaves. There are other more obscure parts of their beliefs that involve lizard people and other ritual sacrifices. Many people have accused me of being in Qanon since I write about the human trafficking that happened in Philadelphia in 2020. But I have never participated in their forum. I don’t follow the “Q drops.” In fact, members of the press seem to know a lot more about it than I ever will. Actually, the American mainstream press is responsible for sowing doubt about legitimate human trafficking. This is not just a gut feeling.

I uncovered and exposed a human trafficking operation that the city government of Philadelphia sponsored. Our press covered it up. Nobody fed me covert information. It was all available to the public. I just connected the dots and . She can’t be the only one. So when I tell you this is really going on, and that Qanon is used to distract from it, believe me.

Here is some basic data to support this notion.

“QANON” + “NEWS NETWORK” = NUMBER OF SEARCH RESULTS

Here is a list of how many posts Google has indexed as of April 11, with “Qanon” and “news network.”

Federal Times: 730

Seattle Times: 26,100

Boston Globe: 51,100

The Oregonian: 68,700

Philadelphia Inquirer: 75,600

San Francisco Chronicle: 97,700

Star Tribune: 236,000

BuzzFeed: 322,000

Daily Mail: 356,000

LA Times: 709,000

Wall Street Journal: 719,000

Guardian: 1,010,000

Washington Post: 1,110,000

Business Insider: 1,210,000

ABC News: 1,350,000

NBC News: 1,430,000

USA Today: 1,630,000

CBS News: 1,810,000

Yahoo: 2,000,000

New York Times: 2,010,000

Associated Press: 2,140,000

CNN: 2,280,000

FOX: 2,890,000

TOTAL = 22,441,930.

For comparison’s sake, these outlets had a combined 12,042,603 posts in relation to “human trafficking.” So at this level, there is a nearly 2:1 overemphasis on Qanon compared to legitimate human trafficking. Do you get that? Our press is obsessed with this fringe, supposedly debunked conspiracy group. They claim this group is so dangerous because of events like January 6th riot at the Capitol. But the activities of Qanon have been far less detrimental than the instances of actual human trafficking that are absolutely happening around the world. In America, no less.

SOCIAL MEDIA RESULTS

Results are shown regarding these platforms + Qanon // human trafficking respectively.

4 Chan: 233,000 // 420,000

YouTube: 3,620,000 // 8,070,000

Facebook: 6,870,000 // 20,100,000

Twitter: 7,950,000 // 16,500,000

Social media platforms are composed of many million more users who are not in the press. This means that we are looking at a more accurate portrayal of how the people are talking. From that perspective, it’s clear that social media users are much more interested in human trafficking, than they are Qanon. This does not jive. The mainstream press should be focused on what people actual care about. From this perspective it’s obvious that they care about 2.5x more about legitimate human trafficking compared to fringe conspiracy theories about lizard people eating children.

“HUMAN TRAFFICKING” SEARCHED ALONE SHOWS LOCAL NEWS STILL CARES A LITTLE

If you just search “human trafficking” the top stories are mostly from local news outlets. Places like FOX 5 Atlanta, WBFF Baltimore, WQOW Eau Claire County, etc. come up. Somehow or another when places like this report on actual busts of human trafficking rings, the mainstream media doesn’t cover it. They have covered Qanon tens of millions of times, despite the fact that virtually all the information is the same. There is an abundance of information about phony or theatrical things like this. After a while, news companies have to act like a business. If the stories aren’t selling, they won’t get ad revenue. Therefore they have to shift their editorial direction to survive. But somehow along the way, the flow of information is being reversed. The news is talking about stuff people don’t care about and suppressing information about things they really do care about.

COMPARE QANON, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, SLAVERY, AND IMMIGRATION TERMS

I have argued that Democrats in particular are abusing their “sanctuary city” programs in order to usher in modern day slavery. Under the guise of compassion, they are coercing people to come here, moving them around the country, and forcing them to work in unfair conditions. That is not compassion. It is not American. It is slavery.

Here is the :

Human Trafficking

Qanon

Slavery

Sanctuary City

Immigration

Here’s what it looks like:

Google Trends Data: human trafficking, qanon, slavery, sanctuary city, immigration.

Immigration trumps all of these other terms from 2004 until today. Throughout history that remains constant except in the last year. Pretty weird. For the first time in that entire 17 year period, “slavery” and “qanon” managed to become more searched by comparison.
